Welcome to North Seattle French School
We are currently accepting applications for the 2020-21 school year.
Applications for the 2019-20 school year are also welcome and will be considered on a rolling basis as long as space is available.
1) Attend an Open House or request a tour
You’re invited! Join us at one of our Open House events and learn about North Seattle French School from our faculty, board members and current parents. We hold Open Houses in the fall and winter. If you would like more information about the school or a tour after the Open House dates have passed, please contact our office manager at email@example.com.
Upcoming Open House Dates:
- Thursday, February 6th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Saturday, February 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
2) Submit an Application – Apply online by March 31, 2020
Once you have visited and/or attended an open house, please submit an application form with a non-refundable $80 application fee (via PayPal or a mailed personal check). Applications received after the deadline are welcome and considered on a space-available basis.
3) Family School Visit
Once we receive your child’s application and application fee, we will contact you to schedule a Family Visit. During this visit, your child will spend a few hours in the appropriate classroom, while parents/guardians met with a representative from our admissions team to learn more about our school environment and community.
4) Admissions Letters
Admissions letters will be sent a few days after your family visit and once we receive your child’s application and evaluation from a previous school (if needed).
For students entering preschool and kindergarten, NO French is required. Beginning in 1st grade, some command of French is necessary. Non-native speakers will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
North Seattle French School follows the French system to determine grade level according to date of birth. To start school, students must reach the following age requirements by December 31 of the same year:
Preschool: 3 years old
Kindergarten: 5 years old
1st Grade: 6 years old
and so on for each subsequent grade.
For example, students who turn 5 in November may start kindergarten in September.
Please note: All children must be fully potty-trained prior to starting preschool.
Yes. Siblings of current students receive a 5% tuition discount and have admissions priority. Siblings are not automatically accepted; all applicants must complete the full admissions process.
It’s a good idea to start looking at schools in the fall for the following school year. Our application deadline is January 31, but if space is available, we also accept students mid-year.
It is the policy of North Seattle French School to admit students without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual preference, age, or disability.
