We are currently accepting applications for the 2020-21 school year.
If you are interested in joining us for online learning for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, please visit our online learning page.
1) Tour the school or chat with a faculty member
While our campus is currently closed, we continue to offer online chats in conjunction with a virtual tour presentation. An NSFS staff member is available to answer your questions about our school and our programs Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 10:00am. To schedule a video chat and virtual tour with our admissions team, please contact email@example.com.
Our faculty and staff are working diligently to continue providing bilingual education via distance learning. For more information about distance learning at NSFS, check out our online learning page and blog. Follow our Instagram account and our Facebook page to connect with our community and witness our teachers and students in action.
2) Submit an Application – Apply online by April 30, 2020
Once you have visited, attended an open house, or chatted with our admissions team, please submit an application form with a non-refundable $80 application fee. While not required, submitting a preschool evaluation with your application will provide us with more information about the student. The application fee is payable via the PayPal link on the right. Applications received after the deadline are welcome and considered on a space-available basis.
3) Family Visit
Once we receive your child’s application and application fee, we will contact you to schedule an interview with parents or guardians. At this time, family visits are also being conducted via video chat. A representative from our admissions team will have a few questions to help us get to know your family and the prospective student.
4) Admissions Letters
Admissions letters for preschool and elementary will be emailed a few days after the family visit.
For students entering preschool and kindergarten, NO French is required. Beginning in 1st grade, some command of French is necessary. Non-native speakers will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
North Seattle French School follows the French system to determine grade level according to date of birth. To start school, students must reach the following age requirements by December 31 of the same year:
Preschool: 3 years old
Kindergarten: 5 years old
1st Grade: 6 years old
and so on for each subsequent grade.
For example, students who turn 5 in November may start kindergarten in September.
Please note: All children must be fully potty-trained prior to starting preschool.
Yes. Siblings of current students receive a 5% tuition discount and have admissions priority. Siblings are not automatically accepted; all applicants must complete the full admissions process.
It’s a good idea to start looking at schools in the fall for the following school year. Our application deadline is January 31, but if space is available, we also accept students mid-year.
It is the policy of North Seattle French School to admit students without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual preference, age, or disability.
