Gilles brings over 20 years of education and leadership experience with a strong student-centered approach and a passion for bilingual education to NSFS. He comes to us from Norfolk, VA, where he has served as the head of the French-American School there since 2014.
Over the course of his career, Gilles has taught students from preschool through 6th grade in France, Nigeria, and several U.S. bilingual schools, including 12 years at the French American International School of Portland (FAIS) and three at the Lycée International de Boston, where he was also the French program coordinator. In addition to leadership and collaboration with teaching faculty, Gilles has worked closely with boards of trustees, parent associations, and local partner organizations in support of his schools. He is involved with the Mission Laïque Française (MLF) and was part of a team there developing bilingual assessments.
